About Alison
I am a Colorado native who has lived and worked in Northern Virginia for almost 20 years. After spending more than a decade as an analyst for various federal agencies where I often pulled order out of chaos, I made the transition to Professional Organizing. I had no idea that the systems I implemented at work to make MY life easier could be a career! I'm pursuing my passion by providing clients the peace and space to breathe that comes with a decluttered and functional space, whether it's a closet, kitchen, pantry or office. I’m a big fan of minutiae and small-scale organizing solutions for junk drawers, tools, and hobbyist collections.
At my house we make jewelry, brew beer, and run our respective businesses. Oh, and keep the dog happy by any means necessary. You’d better believe we’ve had to scratch out space for all these activities (and tweaked and adjusted), to give each other the room needed to succeed and still want to hug each other at the end of the day. That’s the mindset I hope carries over to my clients. I want you to be happy when you come home – cracking a smile when you step through the door!
Working With an Organizer
Contacting a Professional Organizer is a big step. Acknowledging that you need help can be a challenge, as we’ve been led to believe that we should be able to manage it all, on our own. We want our homes to be our sanctuaries, but they need to serve so many other purposes too – food service (from grab-and-go to gourmet), gym, school, storage unit, office, and dedicated spaces for kids, pets, and adults. That’s a tall order, especially in this area where space is at a premium and free time can feel like a pipe dream.
I am here to help you dig out of your clutter; remove the unnecessary items that have piled up; set you up with digital or paper file management systems; and create storage solutions that will make the space YOU HAVE work best FOR YOU.
